It is nice to commence preparation based on NCERT Books but, it will not suffice the purpose. NCERT Books help in laying a solid foundation that helps in conceptual clarity and better understanding as your advance with your study-plan. Have a look at the topics covered in syllabus and always rely upon standard text-books. Sir everyone says that to be successful in civil services you must have a group of friends with whom you can discuss about different topics while preparing. I don't have that kind of group because i have not joined any coaching, i'm preparing by myself with some guidance by my senior who have cleared the mains.
