Look for UPSC updates for the same. The Prelims results are round the corner and you will get answer soon. You should be careful when you fill Preliminary Examination form as any such casual decision can pose problems later. Dear Sirs I am mechanical engineer by profession. I have just started my preparation for 2nd optional(Public Administration), 1st being my mechanical. Though i am confident about mech but finding it very difficult to attempt questions in pub ad.(as they require quality writing skills and high efforts). Kindly guide me how to cope up with this situation (same difficulty in writing GS). Although its been 20 days only of my pub ad classes yet i want quick progress. Please guide me.

sir im extc engn.i have started my preparation for 2012 year....currently reading history,geog,polity,eco(till 12th level)....is it right direction? next..im finding GS-2 studies quite difficult..pls guide me for that ..from where should i start my preparation for GS-2?

The General Studies syllabus has some topics which are traditional and can be prepared with help of NCERT books. For the dynamic portion of syllabus, you need to prepare from different sources. For Paper II, there should not be big problem as you are from Engineering Background. However, start with Maths and Reasoning and pick up other constituents side by side.
