Preliminary Examination is an objective-type test based timed test based on multiple choice questions.
It consists of two compulsory papers
General Studies Paper I decides your result as General Studies Paper II is qualifying.
It is a screening test and after cracking Prelims, you get eligible to appear in Main Examination Written.

Main Examination consists of total 9 papers
2 Qualifying Papers
7 Question papers that are counted for merit.
Paper 1 Essay 250 Marks
Paper 2 General Studies I 250 Marks
Paper 3 General Studies II 250 Marks
Paper 4 General Studies III 250 Marks
Paper 5 General Studies IV 250 Marks
Paper 6 Optional Subject I 250 Marks
Paper 7 Optional Subject II 250 Marks
Candidates who clear Main Examination are called for Personality Test (Interview)
Interview carry 275 marks.
Marks obtained by candidate in Main Examination (Written) as well as Interview determine their final outcome.
