Dear sir, I had given my optional subject for CSE as commerce and accountancy. I have graduated in B.Com and I am from CBSE till 12th class commerce group. Now, please tell me the variation in optional preparation from that of my academic exam?? In what way I have to work for this optional? I have got good basics in the optional paper because of my 5 years study..

With your commerce background, you have a solid base, now; you will have to build-up your knowledge that matches the UPSC’s expectations.

Have a look at the syllabus and previous years’ question papers to know the requirements and the current trends. See, how effectively you are able to answer previous years' question papers and feel it within your reach or not.

Keep always in mind that you have to take your preparation to the level that this examination has.

If you feel, you can reach out to some selected candidates with Commerce & Accountancy as optional subject for guidance or may consider joining coaching institutes for support that will help you manage your preparation effectively.
