I am a student of Forestry. So, can I prepare for IAS or IFS? If IFS, how can I start its preparation for Preliminary Exam.

From Civil Services Examination 2013, UPSC has started conducting Preliminary Examination common for Civil services as well as Indian Forest Services Examination.

You can apply for both Civil Services (Main) Examination and Indian Forest Services (Main) Examination if you wish to.

Since Preliminary Examination is common, you need to prepare as per UPSC requirements.

We suggest while commencing preparation, you should not look at Preliminary Examination alone as there would be limited time available between Prelims and Main Examination.
