Dear sir, i am an engineering 3rd year ECE student .I want to become an IAS so please suggest me that what kind of preparation i start so it help me to crack the exam. i will heartily congrats you.

Being aware about the complete exam-plan and related requirements at each stage of the examination is the most significant step beginners need to take.

But, before you commit yourself, self-assessment is must to understand your strengths and weaknesses. Accordingly, you will be able to prioritize your needs while planning preparation-strategies.

You have to understand the new format and looking at CSE 2014 schedule, you can easily make out that from the day 1, you have to commence your preparation with Main Examination in focus as there is limited time available between Preliminary and Main Examination.

Moreover, with Main Examination oriented General Studies preparation, your Preliminary Examination Paper I (General Studies) almost gets covered and for Paper II, you have to rely on practice than reading content. Being an engineer, it should not pose any major problem in front of you.

As you have enough time in hand, you should commence preparation with some basic books and NCERT books are considered to be the best resource for this purpose. Also, make newspaper reading a daily routine to build awareness and information about the contemporary developments.

Make a beginning, as you advance, you will keep on getting insights that help you prepare effectively.
