In the beginning, many youngsters I come across pretend that they know a lot about Civil Services Examination.

But, quite often soon they come back with a lot of apprehensions and look up for guidance for realiable information so that they could make an informed decision.

This process includes a lot of decisions you take that are made keeping in mind the information received from different people, tailored to your needs, matching the circumstances you are in and are based on a balanced mindset.

Before making your opinion on all the important issues related to preparation, you need serious consideration on such aspects.

Gone are the days when people use to prepare for this examination without any time-frame, stuck with it for years and in the event of adverse results attempt after attempts, they found themselves nowhere.

Have an action-plan ready

Now, most of the candidates understand the fierce competition they are going to face and accept that in case of any unpleasant outcome, they can make use of the learning and skills in some other job and the knowledge acquired would help them all over their life.

You need to understand that it is a major goal you have set for yourself. No doubt it is a bold decision and you have to support your decision all throughout, till you achieve success.

Make a proper strategy which is realistic and feasible. All you need to do is to follow the road map and keep moving towards your destination.

Allow a slight flexibility to adjust little interruptions and practical problems.

It requires a delicate balance of long term-short term strategies with an aggressive effort to cover the syllabus and an impressionable presentation in examination delivers positive outcomes.

This examination was always tough for those who viewed this examination as impossible. On the other hand, many candidates who prepare well, make an estimation of strengths, put up an effort in the right direction and show faith in their abilities; find it relatively easy and as a result, most of them ultimately taste sweetness of success.

Come, take on the challenge, have realistic expectations and maybe it is you who can find your name in the final merit-list.
