The schedule for Civil Services Examination 2014 is out. Candidates planning to appear in Civil Services Examination 2014 face another surprise as the Preliminary Examination 2014 would be held on August 24, 2014; almost 3 months shift from customary May month when Prelims were staged in recent years.
As per the calendar for examinations scheduled to be held in year 2014 released by UPSC, the notification for Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2014 would be released on May 17, 2014 and the last date for receipt of application is going to be June 16, 2014.
The Preliminary Examination 2014 would be held on August 24, 2014.
It shows a major shift as in recent years, the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination was staged in month of May; only exception being CSE 2011 Prelims that was staged in month of June.
The Preliminary Examination 2014 would continue to be combined examination for screening candidates for both Civil Services Examination and Indian Forest Services Examination 2014.
The Civil Services (Main) Examination 2014 would commence from December 14, 2014 and it is going to be 5-day affair.
