Coaching Institutes: Make the best use of the guidance you get for preparation

Admin Last Update on: 14 Jul 2012

Many a time, candidates do not understand the role of coaching. At times candidates after enrolling with coaching institutes consider their job is over and now, coaching institute would take care of the rest.

When we are talking about success in Civil Services Examination, coaching institutes are considered to be a catalyst and a lot of aspirants look at the topper’s optional subjects and the coaching institute they joined.

The sad part is that at times candidates after enrolling with coaching institutes consider their job is over and now, coaching institute would take care of the rest. They forget that it is their time, effort, energy and money which are going into this preparation and ultimately, only they have to encounter this fierce battle.

Many a time, candidates do not understand the role of coaching. It is to advance your groundwork which could match the examiner’s expectations and to get better your level of preparedness so that you can face examination confidently.

Before you come out to join any coaching, you should have clarity about essentials relating to subject for which you seek guidance and have to recognize where and how much help you need for preparation.

Your familiarity with the subject and understanding of basics would help you in comprehending what is being taught in coaching and will bring effectiveness. If it is not so, chances are that at end of any particular topic, majority in the class would prefer to advance and move on to next topic whereas some of the students will still not be clear about it and would need explanations and clarifications hampering class’s progress.

Many candidates look at this examination compartment wise and jump from one to other. Be sure to have an integrated approach (Prelims+Mains) as you need to understand the scheme of examination which requires you to look at the ultimate goal which depends on your performance in Main Examination (Written +Interview).

So, if you have to prepare for General Studies or optional subject/s, don’t waste time; plan and prioritize things well in time so that later, you are not left with too many things within limited time.
